In Clans, the goal is for each player to score as many points as possible for their color, but which color is yours? That's a secret until the very end! On your turn, you move all huts from an area with fewer than seven huts to an adjacent occupied area, all while trying to hide which color is yours. The board is divided into 12 regions, each with five areas and four terrain types. Each area receives huts of five different colors. When an area becomes completely surrounded by empty areas, it is scored. If all colors are present in a scoring, any colors with only one hut are removed. The epoch track limits how many areas can score before the game ends, and each scoring advances this track. Depending on the terrain type and progress on the track, scoring can yield bonuses or penalties. The game ends when at least twelve areas have scored. Only then do players reveal their colors to see who secretly scored the most points and wins! It's an abstract game with a touch of bluffing and deduction, set in prehistoric times, exploring the theme of early villages and the safety of larger groups.
