In Cloud City, you take on the role of an architect tasked with persuading the city council to choose your urban design. The goal is to build the longest, most efficiently distributed network of walkways, linking buildings of varying sizes. Each walkway earns council votes, and the longer the stretch, the higher the score—1, 2, 3, 5, or 8 points per segment. River walkways connect the smaller structures, forest walkways link the medium‑sized ones, and ice walkways tie the tallest buildings together, creating a challenge of spatial optimization and routing strategy. You begin with a set of building tiles and an open draft of placement cards, letting you pick which structures to place each turn. The open drafting mechanic adds a layer of anticipation, as you decide whether to secure an available building or wait for a potentially better one. The final city layout determines how many votes each walkway earns, so planning the placement of buildings relative to walkways is crucial. If you manage to craft an extensive, well‑connected network, the council will vote for your plan and you win the game. Cloud City blends the fun of building a miniature city with the logic of optimizing routes and scoring, delivering an engaging, strategic experience for 2 to 4 players, 30‑to‑60 minute playtime, and moderate complexity.
