In Corrosion, you step into the shoes of a factory manager, immersed in an industrial setting where time is your biggest adversary. The atmosphere is thick with steam, and your machines and gears are under constant threat of rust. To succeed, you need to be clever: build diversified production and scoring engines while investing in chrome technology, which is rust-resistant and much more powerful.
During your turn, you have two main options: either play an engineer card or turn your factory's corrosion wheel. Playing engineers is how you acquire new machines and recruit more specialists for your team. And here's the cool part: other players can 'follow' your action by playing an engineer of the same suit but a higher grade, which creates a neat interaction at the table.
Turning the corrosion wheel puts your machines to work at full throttle and brings your engineers back to your hand, ready for the next round. But beware! This movement also accelerates the corrosion process of your older gears and machines. The secret to success is to masterfully coordinate your engineers and the corrosion wheel, ensuring a smooth transition between different efficiency engines. The game ends when the special point supply or the award supply runs out, and the player with the highest final score, obtained through their machines and awards, is the grand winner.
