About the game

What you do in a play session

Cuba: El Presidente arrives as the first official expansion for Cuba, adding an extra board, new ships, laws, buildings and, most importantly, the charismatic President who visits the island each round. Each player picks one of six available roles – Worker, Dancer, Attorney, Director, Revolutionary or Musician – and enjoys unique effects: the Worker stores your goods, the Revolutionary gives a victory point, the Musician yields two money, the Dancer sets the next start player, the Attorney lets you use a building outside the supervisor line for one money, and the Director swaps two adjacent ships. After everyone has chosen, the remaining card determines where the President's car stops, activating a symbol that can, for example, make all law proposals take effect, allow free supervisor movement next round, permit overbuilding by paying the resource difference, push the leader back two points, or grant market discounts. The expansion also adds two extra laws in each of the four categories, extending the game from six to up to eight rounds. The result is an extra strategic layer: you must not only pick the best role but also anticipate where the President will land. All this preserves Cuba's economic core while adding more interaction, variability and surprise moments that make the play even more dynamic and fun.
