About the game

What you do in a play session

It's 1956, and Budapest is on fire! The Hungarian Revolution of October is raging, and you can choose your side in this historic struggle. On one side, command the Soviet forces, using militia and snipers to crush the rebels at all costs. On the other, lead the revolutionary forces in a cooperative fight to ensure the revolution triumphs.

The game unfolds over seven tense days, simulating the last week of October. The Soviet commander uses cards to gain command points and trigger effects that can help or hinder the insurgents. This card-driven dynamic is reminiscent of classics like Twilight Struggle, dictating the pace and strategy.

The revolutionary team, composed of up to three players, needs to collect resources and recruit fighters. The goal is to use these resources to resolve events and gain advantages, while evading or confronting tanks, soldiers, and the sheer Soviet force. Managing positions across the city, coordinating team actions, and maintaining high morale are crucial to avoid running out of cards.

This cooperative approach, inspired by games like Pandemic, makes the game more accessible to those not accustomed to complex wargames. If the revolutionary leaders fall or fail to meet event objectives, history changes, and the revolution is suppressed. But if they manage to keep the streets free, the fight goes on! It's a modern wargame, political and with historical simulation that will grip you from start to finish.
