About the game
What you do in a play session
Disney Villainous: Filled with Fright is the first solo expansion for the Villainous line, introducing Oogie Boogie, the creepy antagonist from The Nightmare Before Christmas. To play you must own the base Disney Villainous game, as the expansion only adds Oogie's deck, personal board, and miniature. Oogie's goal is to overthrow Jack Skellington from the Pumpkin King throne by playing allies, items, effects and condition cards from his deck. Each turn follows the base game flow: move your villain, perform the space's action—usually playing cards—and then draw back up to four cards. The big new twist is a "Take That" card that lets Oogie disrupt other villains by pulling cards from their destiny decks and placing them on their boards, blocking key action spaces. As with all Villainous titles, the game is asymmetric: each villain has a unique win condition, and Oogie’s condition involves manipulating Jack’s deck. Hand management is crucial, balancing offensive cards against opponents with those that advance your own objective. The artwork captures Tim Burton’s gothic vibe, and the components are high‑quality, featuring a detailed Oogie miniature with his sack‑hat. Playtime is roughly 40‑60 minutes, suitable for 2‑4 players, though the expansion shines in intense duels. With a low complexity rating (2.25), it’s friendly to newcomers while still offering strategic depth for seasoned fans of asymmetric, card‑driven games. In short, Filled with Fright expands the Villainous experience with a charismatic villain, fresh "take‑that" interactions, and new combo possibilities, all while preserving the core mechanics that make the series so appealing.
