Ever had one of those wild dreams that you try to describe, and while no one quite gets it, everyone ends up laughing? That's the essence of Dixit: Daydreams. This expansion delivers 84 brand-new cards featuring the mesmerizing and surreal artwork of Franck Dion. If you already own the original Dixit or Dixit Odyssey, this set is the perfect upgrade to refresh your table and add new layers of mystery to your game nights.
For those new to the loop: the game is a blend of poetry and cunning. In each round, one player becomes the Storyteller. They pick a card from their hand and provide a clue—a phrase, a song, or any hint that represents the image in their mind. The catch? They can't be too obvious or too obscure. Other players then try to 'trick' the group by selecting cards from their own hands that fit the Storyteller's clue. All cards are shuffled and revealed, and then the voting begins: who can guess the original card?
The scoring balance is where the strategy lies. If everyone guesses correctly or if nobody does, the Storyteller gets nothing. However, if only some players guess right, both the Storyteller and the successful guessers score points. Additionally, if you managed to trick someone into voting for your card (even if it wasn't the Storyteller's), you score too! It's a game of perception, empathy, and a touch of bluffing. With Daydreams, you expand this universe with imagery that defies logic and sparks imagination, making every session unique. It's the kind of game that works for family, friends, or even those people who claim they 'don't like board games,' because the barrier to entry is incredibly low and the fun is instant.
