About the game

What you do in a play session

If you've played the classic Dixit, get your imagination ready, because Dixit: Journey is here to polish that experience we all love. The essence remains the same: one player steps into the role of the Storyteller, picks a card from their hand, and tries to convey an idea through a sentence, a rhyme, or even a little tune. Everyone else then selects a card from their own hand that matches that clue and hands it to the Storyteller. The cards are shuffled, and everyone votes to try and identify the original one. But watch out: if the clue is too obvious and everyone guesses correctly, the Storyteller gets nothing. If it's too cryptic and no one guesses right, they also miss out on points. It's all about finding that perfect balance! What truly changes here isn't the core gameplay—which remains pure visual poetry—but the practical execution. Dixit: Journey was designed to be more user-friendly and straightforward. It features a separate, much cleaner scoring board, replacing the old track found inside the box. Additionally, the board includes a rule summary so no one gets lost, along with numbered slots for placing cards during voting, which greatly helps maintain the game's flow and prevents confusion over who voted for what. It is the ideal version for those who want to focus on what really matters: the creative connection between friends and the wild interpretations of the surreal illustrations. It's a light, fast-paced game that works perfectly as an entry point for anyone wanting to explore the Dixit universe without any hassle.
