Ever feel like your group has already 'figured out' the cards in your Dixit set? That's where Dixit: Quest comes in. This expansion introduces 84 new cards featuring surreal and dreamlike illustrations that completely refresh the experience, forcing everyone to think outside the box once again. The dynamic remains the one we love: one player acts as the storyteller and gives an enigmatic clue about their card; the others try to 'blend in' by submitting cards that match the clue. Then comes the moment of truth: who can guess which card was the original?
The biggest advantage here is versatility. You can mix these cards with the base game, Odyssey, or Journey to create a massive deck. However, there's an important detail: Quest is essentially a 'card pack'. It comes in a smaller, travel-friendly box, but it does not include the scoring board or voting tokens. If you already own any version of Dixit, you're all set. If not, you'll need paper, a pencil, and some improvisation to keep track of points, as the game is not standalone.
The goal remains the same: score points by giving clues that aren't too obvious (otherwise everyone guesses right and the storyteller gets nothing), nor too difficult (otherwise no one guesses and the storyteller also fails). It's the perfect game for breaking the ice, laughing at your friends' absurd interpretations, and testing who is the most poetic — or the most cunning — at the table. If you enjoy light deduction games with an artistic flair, adding these cards to your arsenal is almost mandatory to keep your sessions feeling fresh.

Can I play Dixit: Quest as a standalone game?
Theoretically yes, but you would need to improvise scoring with pen and paper and create your own voting tokens, as the box only contains the cards.
How many cards are in the expansion?
It comes with 84 brand new cards with unique artwork.
Can I mix these cards with Dixit Odyssey?
Yes! They are fully compatible with the base game as well as the Odyssey and Journey versions.
What is the difference between Dixit 2 and Dixit Quest?
None. Asmodee simply renamed the expansion in 2013, but the cards remain identical.
Who would you recommend this expansion to?
To those who already love Dixit and feel the original cards have been overused, or those who want a smaller box for traveling.
