Fire up your engine and adjust the propeller, because Dogfight! puts you in the cockpit of World War I biplanes for a frantic aerial duel! The objective is simple yet tense: maneuver your aircraft to get right behind your opponent and fire at the exact moment to shoot them down. If you manage to down the enemy, victory is immediate. Otherwise, the struggle lasts up to three rounds, and the player who has taken the fewest hits emerges victorious.
The gameplay dynamics are based on bluffing and anticipation. Each player secretly chooses a movement tile behind their player screen, revealing them simultaneously. The value of the tile determines how many spaces you advance along the white path on the board, and some tiles may contain hit icons. Movement follows the direction of the arrows, but there is the possibility of performing the famous 'Looping the Loop' to shift the chase dynamics.
The board is colorful, and the colors of the spaces influence the effectiveness of the shots. A crucial detail is that planes can pass one another or even end up in the same space. Sound safe? Think again! One miscalculated move and you might give the positional advantage to your opponent, who will be ready to blast you away. With nine different biplanes, each with its own tile distribution, the strategy changes depending on the aircraft chosen. The game also includes scenarios to vary the experience, ensuring that every duel is unique. It's the perfect dose of fast-paced military strategy for those who don't have hours to dedicate to a complex wargame but love the tension of an aerial dogfight.
