About the game
What you do in a play session
Ever felt like you could actually reshape the world around you? In Dos Rios, strategy isn't just about where you place your workers, but how you manipulate nature itself to your advantage. The setting consists of hex tiles that form a variable board, ensuring that no two games are ever the same. Your main goal is to build a series of structures along the banks of two major rivers.
To win, you need to be both fast and efficient: you must either complete five buildings (four houses and one hacienda) or secure one hacienda and three houses, provided they are all strategically positioned on the same riverbank. But hold on, it's not just about arriving and building! The game demands smart resource management. Each round, certain hexes along the river pay out, providing either money to erect your houses or lumber to construct dams. And here is the real game-changer: dams allow you to change the river's flow! This means you can alter the board's dynamics to favor your own gains or perhaps make life a bit harder for your opponents. It is a constant balance between territorial expansion, resource management, and a dash of hydraulic engineering to ensure the flow of victory is always in your favor.
