About the game
What you do in a play session
Dungeon in a Tin is an exploration‑and‑combat game that works solo or cooperatively for up to four heroes. Each session starts with a stack of face‑down tiles; as a player moves forward, a new dungeon segment is revealed and placed onto the modular board. Whenever a new room is entered, a monster die is rolled to decide which foes – ogres, goblins, etc. – appear and what kind of loot might be found. Combat is resolved with dice rolls and skill cards: when attacked, the monster shows its attack style and the player selects a hand card that best counters it, each card having strengths and weaknesses against certain attack types. The ultimate goal is to reach the deepest level, rescue the captured maiden, and then bring her back to the starting tile. The return journey is even tougher because the maiden’s presence makes the party more vulnerable. All components fit on a single label sheet, allowing you to print and assemble the game at home; a few extra tokens and blank dice complete the set. Once assembled on cardstock, the whole game can be tucked inside an Altoids tin for easy transport. With straightforward dice‑rolling, modular board building, and a dash of role‑playing, a game runs about 20 minutes, perfect for a quick, thematic, cooperative experience without a bulky box.
