About the game
What you do in a play session
Warhammer Quest is the original title of its series and lets up to four players assume the roles of adventurers delving into dark dungeons for gold, artifacts and glory. Each hero hails from a distinct background: the Barbarian from the frozen north, the Wizard from the Imperial cities, the Dwarf driven by a lust for treasure, and the Elf – swift, deadly archer – defending Loren's woods with native magic. The board isn’t static; rooms and corridors are modular tiles that snap together differently each game, ensuring a fresh map every time. Players battle classic Warhammer foes – orcs, goblins, skaven, minotaurs and giant creatures like spiders and bats – as well as lethal traps and collapsing tunnels. The goal is to survive, defeat enemies and amass the most treasure; the player with the biggest haul is deemed the true winner.
The game is fully cooperative: everyone must work together to overcome obstacles, because one player’s failure can doom the whole party. Core rules are straightforward, but there are many optional layers of complexity, including a hefty role‑playing book that expands the lore for those who want deeper immersion. Components are generous – detailed miniatures, event, treasure and equipment cards, plus a variety of dice – giving the game a solid tactile feel. While the rulebook can seem dense at first, the gameplay flow is quick and replayability is high thanks to the modular board and hero combinations. Perfect for fans of fantasy, tactical combat and cooperative sessions that end with epic tales of loot and blood.
