About the game

What you do in a play session

Grab your pencil and dice, because Dungeon Legacy is here to challenge you! This print-and-play game throws you into the shoes of a lone adventurer on a quest through three distinct dungeons, each more treacherous than the last. Your mission? Navigate perilous corridors, defeat monsters, gather treasures, and most importantly, find the exit before the dungeon claims you. Each floor is a unique sheet you permanently mark with your pencil – there's no turning back!

The first floor introduces the basics in a classic setting. The second presents the Forgotten Forest, full of watery surprises and magical wells. And to top it off (with gold or lava!), the third floor is the Dragon's Lair, an active volcano with fiery hazards and a formidable final boss. Each turn, you roll three dice and decide how to use them: one for a straight move, two for an L-shaped path. Collect items along the way, but watch your step! Interact with chests, merchants, and monsters when you're nearby. Combat is straightforward: roll, hit, kill. Miss? You lose health. To escape each floor, you need at least one key and to reach the exit door. Everything you carry – health, coins, swords, potions – carries over to the next challenge. The campaign is demanding: dying on any floor means starting over from scratch. But if you survive and gather plenty of loot, glory awaits! Will you emerge a legend or become just another ghost in the dungeon?

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

7 questions
How many players can participate in Dungeon Legacy?
Dungeon Legacy can be played by 1 to 3 players. It's designed with solo play in mind but works well in a group too.
What is the average playtime for a game or campaign?
A single floor session usually takes between 30 to 60 minutes. A full campaign, with all three floors, can take longer depending on your speed and luck.
Do I need many components to play?
No! Being a print-and-play game, you only need to print the floor sheets, have some dice (3d6 are ideal), and a pencil. Simple as that!
Is the game difficult? What is the complexity?
The complexity is considered medium (BGG weight 2/5). The basic rules are easy to learn, but the campaign progresses and dangers increase, requiring strategy and a bit of luck.
What happens if I die on a floor?
If you die on any floor of the campaign, the adventure ends there, and you have to start over from the first floor. It's a risk that adds tension!
Can I play the same campaign multiple times?
Yes! Since it's a print-and-play game, you can print new sheets and play as many campaigns as you like. Each playthrough will be different due to dice rolls and your choices.
Who do you recommend Dungeon Legacy for?
We recommend it for those who enjoy dungeon crawler games, roll-and-write mechanics, and games that can be played solo or in a small group, especially if you like the idea of a game with permanent elements.
