In Ekö, you are a strategist in a fantasy world, battling to build empires and capture enemy Emperors. The goal is to accumulate 12 victory points (VP) by constructing villages, towers, and castles, or by capturing Emperors. Each type of building is worth different points, and you need at least one palace to win. The game starts with pieces randomly placed on the modular board, and you can swap your Emperor with another piece before starting. On your turn, you perform two phases: action and reinforcements. In the action phase, you can move your pieces, attack enemies, or construct buildings. Attacks can only be made if you have more pieces than the enemy, except when the Emperor is involved. In the reinforcements phase, you can add pieces to the board, but not near enemy buildings. The game ends when someone reaches 12 VP or is the only one with pieces on the board. Ekö is an abstract strategy game that combines grid movement, territory building, and combat tactics, offering a challenging and replayable experience.
