Get ready for a frantic race through geological eras! In Evolution, you aren't just a player; you are the force of nature attempting to guide a species from a lungfish stage all the way to the pinnacle of human evolution. The goal is simple, but the execution is a true struggle for survival: be the first to complete all six evolutionary stages. But don't think it's going to be a peaceful stroll through Eden!
Every turn, destiny is literally in your hands (or rather, in your dice). You'll roll dice to see if luck is on your side for a much-needed mutation or if you'll have to scramble to escape something looking to turn you into a snack. Mutations are the heart of the game: they can grant incredible movement abilities or boost your adaptation, but the climate matters immensely. Warm climates make mutation easier, so make sure to soak up that sun!
The real game-changer and masterstroke here is the board dynamics. Continents don't stay put; they drift! You can use this movement to position yourself in favorable areas or, if you're feeling a bit more 'villainous,' you can break land bridges to strand your opponents on tectonic plates alongside some very hungry dinosaurs. And keep an eye on the predators: they have specific windows for hunting. Sometimes, the smartest move isn't to evolve rapidly, but to stay low and avoid drawing attention so you don't get eaten and lose an entire evolutionary stage. It's a constant balancing act between growing and not getting eaten, in an environment that shifts constantly. The only rule is: adapt or disappear!
