About the game

What you do in a play session

Hey Feudum fans! Ready to add an even more charming and strategic touch to your kingdom? Feudum: Squirrels & Conifers is that mini-expansion that, despite its size, brings a lot of cuteness and a very interesting resource dynamic to your game. Forget the green food cubes; now, the table comes alive with 50 super appetizing pink squirrels and 6 wooden conifer trees that add incredible visual depth to the board. Seriously, the game looks much better and more tactile with these additions!

The main trick of this expansion is that it transforms how food appears and multiplies on the map. The pink cubes, besides being a more colorblind-friendly alternative, replace the green cubes and become the new food source. And how does this work? It's simple: whenever a brown wood cube is placed on the board, either during initial setup or replenishment, you'll add a conifer tree next to it. And the coolest part is that each of these trees, or any other tree without a squirrel, will generate a pink squirrel cube next to it during replenishment. In other words, the trees become breeding grounds for these little creatures, creating a food source that spreads more organically and visually gratifyingly across the map. It's a detail that adds a super fun and thematic layer of management and area control, making the quest for resources even more engaging. Get ready to see your board flourish (literally!) with these new elements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
What does Feudum: Squirrels & Conifers add to the base game?
This mini-expansion brings 50 squirrel miniatures (pink food cubes) and 6 wooden conifer trees, which replace the green food cubes and add a new resource generation mechanic, as well as a more immersive visual to the board.
Is the Feudum base game required to play this expansion?
Yes, Feudum: Squirrels & Conifers is an expansion and requires the Feudum base game to be played. It does not function as a standalone game.
How do the squirrels and conifers affect gameplay?
Conifers are placed on the board alongside brown wood cubes and serve as spawning points for the squirrel cubes (pink food). This creates a food source that multiplies more dynamically and is visually integrated into the map.
Do the pink squirrel cubes have any advantage beyond the mechanic?
Yes! The pink cubes are more accessible for colorblind players, offering better visual distinction compared to the original green cubes. They can even be used solely for this purpose, without the expansion rules.
What level of complexity does this expansion add?
The expansion adds a light layer of complexity. The rules for placing trees and spawning squirrels are simple to learn but offer new strategic considerations for resource management and area control.
How many players is Feudum for, and what's the duration?
The Feudum base game, with this expansion, is for 2 to 6 players, and a game can last between 80 and 180 minutes, depending on the number of participants and familiarity with the rules.
