FLIP OVER is a Japanese card game that blends strategy, bluffing, and a dash of luck. Before the game starts, each player decides whether each trick will yield positive or negative points and places indicator chips on the table—blue for gain, red for loss. The trick winner receives the score corresponding to the trick number (1 point on the first, 2 on the second, etc.). The trick’s trump changes with the trick number: if the card played matches the trick number, it becomes trump and beats any suit. After all 10 cards are played, the chips are flipped, swapping blue for red and vice‑versa, and the same deck returns to the table. Players then play another 10 tricks with the same hand, but now the gain/loss condition is inverted. At the end of the two rounds, the player with the most accumulated points wins. The game is quick (20‑40 minutes), supports 3‑5 players, and requires attention to avoid losing track of chips or the order of trumps. While the mechanics are simple, the need to remember who won each trick and anticipate trumps adds a tension layer that makes each game unique. It’s perfect for those who enjoy card games with betting and bluffing but prefer something lighter than a traditional poker game. If you love memory challenges, strategy, and a touch of luck, FLIP OVER will surprise you and bring plenty of laughs with friends.
