Welcome to the Roman Empire, during Caesar's reign! In Fortuna, you and your friends take on the roles of ambitious Romans striving for influence, wealth, and, of course, happiness. The journey begins far from the Eternal City, but the road is long and full of choices: will you be a dedicated farmer, irrigating the land for abundant grain and wine harvests, then trading your goods in the market to climb the hierarchy? Or perhaps invest in an army of centurions to impress? Maybe the spiritual path is yours, serving the Roman gods? Marriage can also be a gateway to luck and status. As you advance towards Rome, the game heats up. Contributing to the Empire, whether by securing supplies or defending the city against invasions, earns prestige and the coveted Fortuna coins. The graver the crisis, the greater the reward! Upon reaching the heart of Rome, the emperor will crown the citizen who has done the most for the Empire and its people. Victory goes to the player with the most Victory Points (VPs), earned both by your journey to the capital and by collecting privilege cards and resources. Oh, and those secret cards can turn the game around at the end! Prepare for an exciting race towards glory and the Emperor's favor!
