Hey everyone! Get ready for a journey back in time to one of history's most epic and dramatic moments: the fall of the Roman Empire. In 'Fall of Rome', you're not just spectators, but the heroes who will try to prevent the collapse of an empire that once ruled the world. Forget the idea of competing against each other; here, unity is strength, as the game is fully cooperative, following the lines of the classic 'Pandemic', but with a historical twist that's pure gold!
The story goes like this: the once glorious Roman Empire is in tatters, with corruption gnawing from within and barbarian hordes like Anglo-Saxons, Goths, Vandals, and Huns knocking at the gates. Your mission? Recruit armies, fortify strategic cities, forge alliances with tribes (yes, even with the 'enemies'!), and, of course, engage in epic battles. But it's not enough just to defend; you must find peace and reverse this tide of invasions.
Each player takes on a unique role, with special abilities that will be crucial for the team's success. You'll manage cards to seal alliances, using them to convert barbarians into Roman soldiers and strengthen your defenses. And if things get tough, there's a solo mode where you, as Emperor, command three roles to try to hold the line. Want an even greater challenge? The 'Roma Caput Mundi' mode increases the difficulty with more Revolt cards and a tense rule: no Roman legions allowed inside the city! It's a feast for those who enjoy strategy, history, and a good cooperative challenge.
