About the game
What you do in a play session
Frantic is that card game that seems simple at first glance but holds an arsenal of twists to make your game nights quite lively! The premise is classic: start with seven cards and be the first to get rid of all of them. If you succeed, the other players tally the points from the cards remaining in their hands. The game continues until someone reaches a pre-defined maximum score, and then, whoever has the lowest total score wins. Sounds familiar, right? But hold on, the fun is in the details!
On your turn, you can play a card of the same color or with the same number as the card on top of the discard pile. If you don't have one or don't want to play, you draw a card. So far, so good. But Frantic comes alive with its special cards. Imagine being able to make a friend draw four extra cards or, even better, give two of your cards to an unlucky pal! The cherry on top is that you always get to choose who will be the 'lucky' recipient of these gifts. Oh, and there are the black cards, also numbered from 1 to 9. They are a showstopper: they can be played over any number, but not over the same color. And the coolest part? Every time a black card is played, it triggers a random event! These events range from a 'Friday the Thirteenth' (where nothing happens, phew!) to a 'Tornado' that shuffles and redistributes all cards from players' hands. Get ready for chaos and lots of laughs!
