About the game
In a world where magic thunders at every corner, you step in as a trainee of a powerful Hofthanr, a master of the arcane arts ready to test who deserves a spot in their ranks. The game starts with you receiving a random Affinity – a special power you can use only a few times, so think carefully about each move. Next, you pick a Hofthanr from three cards that appear in the center; this becomes your secret objective. Then you build a ten‑card deck by choosing from six different spell types that sit in the center. When the game begins, you cast one spell per turn into your grimoire, which only holds four slots. Decide whether to activate the spell’s effect or keep it as a surprise. You can also quick‑cast a secondary effect from any card in your hand, even as a response to another player’s move, which can swing the game or create an unexpected foe. The real fun comes from deduction: if you can guess an opponent’s secret objective before they reveal it, you can bet and gain even more power. The game ends when a player completes three Hofthanrs before anyone else. But beware: as objectives are completed, the game speeds up, new abilities appear, and the chaos intensifies. It’s easy to learn the rules, but mastering the art of card combinations, memory control, and opponent prediction takes practice. If you enjoy mental challenges, strategy‑heavy card play, and a dash of fantasy, this title could be your next big favorite.

Components: one deck of six spell cards, three Hofthanr cards, a ten‑card deck, four grimoire slots, objective markers, and illustrated rules. The game is compact, ideal for 30‑60 minute sessions, and works well with 2 to 6 players.

Perfect for players who love card games that blend deep strategy, deduction, and a touch of controlled chaos, especially if you’re not afraid to use memory and quick thinking to win.
