About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready to dive into the tiny and super dangerous world of the Gubs! In GUBS: A Game of Wit and Luck, you take charge of these adorable little creatures trying to survive in an environment that seems designed to wipe them out. The goal is simple but far from easy: you need to build the sturdiest and largest colony before fate decides to end the party. And when I say fate, I'm talking about those three dreaded cards that, once drawn, end the game immediately.

The setting is pure natural chaos. On one hand, you have giant beetles that can devour your cities in a heartbeat; on the other, deadly wasp swarms and even flash floods that can wash away all your progress. But don't panic! If you're clever, you can arm your Gubs with spears, recruit brave toad riders, build mushroom barricades, or find shelter in the forest underbrush.

The game is a constant balance between what you plan (wit) and what the deck gives you (luck). It's the kind of quick experience, perfect for a fast game between meals or to spice up a friends' gathering. Since the game is heavily card-based and has very little text, you won't waste time reading massive manuals; just open, shuffle, and see who survives the chaos. If you enjoy fast-paced card games with a touch of 'take that' and a cute yet perilous theme, the Gubs will win you over!
