About the game
What you do in a play session
Hey everyone! Ready to get lost (literally!) in The Grimwood forest? This game is for those who enjoy a mix of luck, strategy, and some good laughs (or curses) with friends. In The Grimwood, you can be whoever you want: a bounty hunter chasing riches, a desperate peasant needing to feed the family, a maiden fleeing an arranged marriage, or just someone who's completely lost. The point is, everyone ends up in this sinister place, full of supernatural creatures.
The goal is simple: collect the best card combos. There are animal combos (owls and crows yield points!), setting combos (clearings, paths, and swamps form a set), and the most valuable ones, supernatural combos. The more supernaturals you gather, the more points you get! But hey, it's not just about collecting. You can use the powers of these creatures to benefit yourself or to mess with others. Oh, and there are also Runes and Amulets to give you an extra action or protection.
On your turn, you can draw a card from the deck or, if you're brave enough, steal one from someone else's hand. Then, use a special power or play a card to form a combo. The game ends when the deck runs out, and whoever has the most points wins. It's a quick, chaotic game with that 'take that' element that makes everything more fun. Perfect for those who don't want complexity and are looking for a light and interactive experience.
