About the game
What you do in a play session
Guderian's Blitzkrieg II is an epic wargame that plunges you into the heart of the Eastern Front during World War II, focusing on Operation Typhoon — Germany's attempt to capture Moscow in 1941 — and the subsequent Russian winter counteroffensive. This game expands the scope of its predecessor (Guderian's Blitzkrieg, 1992), covering everything from Lake Ilmen to Voronezh and stretching all the way to the preparations for the Battle of Kursk in 1943. With multiple scenarios, including Operation Mars, you can even attempt to take Moscow in 1942 using the actual German deception plan! The game uses the Operational Combat Series (OCS) system, known for its realism and strategic depth. Get ready to manage battalions, armies, and supplies on a detailed hex grid, with dice rolls simulating the highs and lows of war. The 2011 edition comes with massive maps, thousands of counters, and nation-specific rulebooks. Average playtime? About 75 hours... but every minute is worth it for hardcore wargamers!
