About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for a card game that will make you think twice before wanting to win! In Gudetama: The Tricky Egg Card Game, the goal is the exact opposite of what we're used to: you want to avoid winning the last round, the final trick. It's a trick-taking game for 2-7 players, where each round consists of seven tricks. In each trick, you play a card, and the person who plays the highest card (following suit rules, of course) takes it all. The catch? Whoever wins the final trick accumulates points, and points here are bad! The number of points is equal to the value of the card that won the trick. So, the art is knowing when to play your strongest cards and when to hold back to avoid being the unlucky one who gets the worst of it in the end. It sounds simple, but with the number of players, things get much more chaotic and fun, requiring a good eye and a dash of luck to not end up with a scrambled egg. It's a very light and quick take, inspired by the famous character Gudetama, the lazy and apathetic egg, which perfectly reflects the game's vibe: don't try too hard to win. Perfect for those who enjoy fast card games with a twist on classic trick-taking mechanics and a touch of humor. Think of it like a souped-up 'Cucumber' with the cuteness (and laziness) of Gudetama. Quick, easy to learn, and with the potential for good laughs (or sighs of frustration, depending on who wins the last trick!).
