About the game
Sharpen the blade and adjust your collar, because the French Revolution has hit the table! In Guillotine, you aren't some Enlightenment philosopher; you are the city's official executioner. Your goal? Please the furious masses by beheading the nobility. But not just any noble will do; you want the most 'valuable' heads to ensure your name goes down in history (or to make sure you don't end up under the blade yourself).

The dynamics are simple but treacherous. The nobles are arranged in a line, and the basic rule is: whoever is at the front dies first. Sounds easy? Wait until you see the manipulation cards! The heart of the game lies in hand management, where you can push nobles backward, pull those from the back to the front, or swap the entire line's order right at the critical moment. It's that classic 'now it's my turn' moment that turns into 'wait, I'm changing everything' in a heartbeat.

The match unfolds over three days of 'work.' In each round, tension rises as players fight to ensure the highest-scoring noble falls under their blade. It's a fast-paced game with dark, acidic humor, perfect for those who enjoy direct interaction where you can screw over your friends with a smile on your face. If you like light card games with a pinch of malice and plenty of laughs, Guillotine is the right choice. In the end, the player who scores the most points from their head harvest wins the day. Just remember to wipe the blood off the blade afterward!

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the game complex to learn?
Not at all! The rules are very simple, and you'll be playing in a few minutes. The challenge lies in the strategy of when to play your cards.
How long does a game last?
It's very quick, usually lasting about 30 minutes, making it a great filler between longer games.
Do I need a translation to play?
Yes, there is moderate language dependency due to the card text, so a translation sheet or translated cards are very helpful.
How many people can play?
From 2 to 5 players. The more people, the more chaos and betrayal in the guillotine line!
Is it suitable for children?
Depends on the family. The theme is macabre (beheadings) but treated with humor. If dark humor is okay, go for it!
What is the general feel of the game?
It's a classic 'take that' game, where the fun comes from manipulating the situation to snatch victory away from your opponent.
