About the game
What you do in a play session
Fisherman's Tales – Mini Edition packs the same shenanigans of the original into a travel‑friendly box. The game kicks off during the final fishing season of the year, when a group of anglers gathers to brag about their biggest catches. On a player's turn they lay down one or more cards face‑down and announce the type of fish they supposedly hooked. The other players can either accept the tale or call the bluff. If challenged, the storyteller flips the cards: an honest claim nets points, a lie costs them. Play continues as the group spins new yarns or tries to shed all their cards. The first to discard the last card, finishing their final story, earns the title of top fisherman. The mini version keeps all the illustrated cards and simple rules, but omits the board and the “Fishermen” mini‑expansion – a trade‑off that doesn’t hurt the fun. Designed for 3‑5 players, a round runs about 30 minutes, making it perfect for parties, casual get‑togethers, or trips. The core experience revolves around verbal interaction, credibility betting, and hand management, as choosing which cards to play and when to bluff can swing the outcome. If you love party games that combine chatter, laughs, and a dash of strategy, this one fits like a glove. Even without extra components, the game delivers a full, story‑rich experience – real or fabricated – by the end of each session.
