About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a modern Wild West adventure! In Homesteaders, you won't just be shooting around, but building a town from scratch, competing to see who rules the land best. Here's how it works: each round features an auction to decide who gets the right to build certain types of buildings. After winning the bid, you use your resources (there are nine different types, pay attention!) to erect one of the available buildings. Each construction gives you an extra boost, whether through income, special abilities, or direct points. Some buildings even require a worker to function, so managing your crew is crucial.

The game lasts ten rounds, followed by a final phase to adjust your finances, buy and sell remaining goods, and activate final abilities. The goal is to accumulate the most points, which come from your buildings, the bonuses they unlock, and selling resources along the way. But watch out for debt! It can cost you the victory. Homesteaders blends auctions with worker placement and resource management in a way that demands planning and a good dose of boldness. It's a game that challenges you to balance town expansion with financial management, all within a theme reminiscent of the building and prosperity of the Old West.
