About the game
If I'm Going Down… (or IIGD) is the first Dying Card Game from Van Ryder Games, bringing a radical concept: you already know you’re going to die, so what matters is how many zombies you can eliminate before the end. The game runs for 1 or 2 players, but if you want to play in a group, just buy a second copy and you’ll have 3 to 4 participants. The setting is a world overrun by zombies where the only mission is to kill as many as possible before succumbing to the apocalypse. Each turn you can attack, use an item, or search for resources, while hordes advance and supplies dwindle. The Campaign / Battle Card Driven mechanic gives rhythm to the campaign, with Fate cards deciding whether you find a resource or whether your attack hits. Tracker cards keep everything organized: health, ammo, and inventory. The highlight is the attention to detail: each zombie has amazing illustrations and its own personality, which can make you care more about them than your character. The game also offers a “Kill em All” mode for pure score chasing, or story arcs that shift the narrative based on your performance. The compact 30‑minute size and the ability to play solo or cooperatively make IIGD an engaging experience, but it requires careful card management and a good sense of strategy to maximize your score before turning into a zombie.
