About the game
What you do in a play session
Tiny Epic Zombies: Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with the Kickstarter promo pack, delivering five distinct play modes. Players can opt for cooperative games—where survivors battle zombies controlled by the system or by an opposing player—or competitive free‑for‑alls, each controlling a survivor trying to stop the undead from taking over the mall. A solo mode is also included for those who enjoy a one‑person apocalypse. The action unfolds in Echo Ridge Mall, a modern shopping center overrun by a zombie outbreak. Each survivor gets three moves per turn; entering rooms lets them fight zombies by rolling a dedicated die or shoot them using ammo if they’re adjacent. After moving, they reveal a search card that may grant useful items (the ITEMeeples) or surprise them with a lurking zombie. Humans must complete three specific objectives before zombies control the central courtyard or eliminate all survivors. Zombies, controlled by a player or the game, command the entire horde and use special abilities to overwhelm the team, aiming to block objective completion. The game blends dice rolling, area influence, pick‑up‑and‑deliver, and push‑your‑luck mechanics on a modular board that reshuffles each session, ensuring high replay value. Quality components—including survivor and zombie miniatures, search cards, ammo and wound tokens—support a 30‑minute playtime, easy learning curve, and suitability for 1‑5 players. Its light weight (2.2/5) and tension‑filled “push your luck” moments keep the experience exciting without being overwhelming, making it an excellent filler or quick‑play option.
