About the game

What you do in a play session

In *Il était une forêt*, you become the architect of a primary forest, balancing fauna, flora, and human interference. The goal? Build the largest and least degraded forest by assembling trees in layers (roots, trunks, canopy) and strategically placing animals. Each species has a per-tree limit — go over, and the ecosystem collapses! The game is quick (15 minutes) but requires planning: you’ll need to think like a true guardian of nature. Inspired by the French documentary of the same name, it’s a light, educational experience perfect for families or eco-theme enthusiasts. Pro tip: never underestimate a well-balanced canopy!
