About the game
What you do in a play session
Imagine a world where darkness has consumed everything, and you are the only hope to bring the light back. Illumineight is a micro-card game that literally fits in the palm of your hand. With only 10 double-sided cards, the goal is to transform the gloomy landscape into an illuminated state, balancing strategy and a touch of quick math.
The mechanic is straightforward but requires you to think a few steps ahead. Each turn, you perform two actions: move and illuminate. When moving an active card, you shift it left or right in your hand based on its value, then flip it to the inactive side. The trick lies in the math: when the value of an inactive card combined with its neighbors equals exactly eight, you can flip it to the light side.
The challenge is constant, as you only win if all cards are on the light side and the combined value of the active cards is eight or more. It is the type of puzzle that seems simple at first but will have you scratching your head while you frantically reorganize your hand. Being a 'Print & Play' title, it is super accessible and perfect to carry in your backpack, play on the bus, on a plane, or during any short break you might have. If you enjoy solo games that don't take up table space and force you to exercise logical reasoning in quick 15-minute sessions, Illumineight is a must-have for your pocket collection. Don't be fooled by its tiny size; the complexity and the satisfaction of solving the light puzzle are massive.
