About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to dive into the dense and dangerous jungles of Vietnam in the 60s and 70s with Infiltrate: Vietnam! This isn't just any wargame; it's a cooperative skirmish experience focused on special forces and insurgent operations, where you and your friends (or just you, if you prefer solo play!) take on the roles of elite soldiers. Your objective? Gather crucial intelligence to win the war, whether through brute force, cunning, or a combination of both. Every decision counts: what to pack, how much ammo to carry, and when to use each resource are determining factors for survival. The mechanics blend simplicity with granular details, creating a tense and realistic atmosphere. Firing and running can alert the enemy, and in some missions, this can mean more reinforcements arriving. The game unfolds in a campaign format, where you create your operatives and try to survive as many missions as possible. There are 9 mission types, randomly chosen in low, medium, or high-risk levels, with stronger enemies and more dangerous events as the difficulty increases. You can play as MACV-SOG, Navy SEALs, LRRPs, Green Berets, ANZACs, Montagnards, Vietcong, or NVA. The game pays attention to details, such as realistic weapon and ammunition weights, limiting what you can carry. After missions, you might find loot or have to make do with captured weapons. And prepare for unusual random events, ranging from enemy tanks and helicopters to... tigers and talking centipedes! It's an immersive game that demands constant planning and adaptation.
