Aboard the starship Exodus, each player commands a human‑machine hybrid on a cosmic pilgrimage that can span decades. The goal is to survive the voyage, develop technologies, terraform planets and ultimately colonise new worlds while battling calamities such as cancer, stress, gray‑goo creatures and even mutinies on board. Each round you place workers in strategic spots – labs, engines, agriculture modules – and perform actions that advance research, build infrastructure or mitigate disasters. A resource market lets you buy and sell scarce materials, while the melding & splaying mechanic turns technology cards into powerful abilities that boost your progress. Negotiations between players are frequent: you may trade promises of support, share experiment costs, or even conspire against a rival about to dominate the space race. Though cooperation is essential to survive cataclysmic events – like lightning strikes or hull breaches – the game ends competitively: the player with the most victory points at journey’s end claims the title of supreme pioneer. With playtime ranging from 60 to 240 minutes depending on player count (1‑6) and decision complexity, Interstellar blends board management, worker placement and variable powers into a deep‑simulation space experience that will please both strategy veterans and epic‑story lovers.
