About the game
What you do in a play session
Check out this 1994 classic! In Intrigue, you and your friends become heads of Renaissance families who aren't afraid to use nepotism and bribery to get what they want. The goal? To secure prominent positions in other families' businesses. To achieve this, anything goes: negotiating, holding auctions, and, of course, offering a clever bribe. But beware! In this game, promises are like the wind: the 'bought' player has absolutely no obligation to honor the deal, even if you offered the most money. It's a game of pure, cutthroat negotiation, where betrayal and cunning are your best friends. Prepare for a competitive and, shall we say, 'vicious' environment, where every verbal agreement could be your downfall or your triumph. The 2005 AMIGO edition introduced some changes, such as the quantity and value of houses/buildings per player and the redefinition of some available professions. It's a fast-paced game, with matches lasting around 45 minutes, ideal for those who enjoy direct interaction and aren't afraid to pit friends against each other. If you like games where conversation and sly tactics set the pace, Intrigue might be your pick!
