About the game
Iwari transports players to a primitive world where scattered tribes roam forests, tundras and deserts in search of identity. Each participant commands a distinct tribe, using a personal deck for two main actions: placing tents to expand settlements across five board regions and building nature totems to earn the Titans' favor. Area control works as a classic majority mechanic – the player with the most tents in a region scores at the end of each card cycle and again at game end. Totems are placed in adjacent regions; dominating two neighboring areas also yields points. Small missions grant minor perks and extra points, encouraging strategic choices throughout the game. In addition to the standard mode, Iwari offers cooperative and solo variants, plus optional modules that alter rules and maps, boosting replayability. The game blends hand management, open drafting, network/route building and area influence, all within an abstract‑style fantasy theme. With 2‑5 players, about 45‑minute playtime and a light weight (2.2/5), Iwari is approachable for those who enjoy elegant strategy without heavy complexity, yet still want to feel immersed in a world ruled by mysterious Titans.
