Prepare to relive the legendary Trojan War in ILIOS: Battle for Troy! This abstract strategy game for 2 to 4 players puts you in the sandals of a Greek warrior or a Trojan chieftain, diving headfirst into the epic conflict inspired by Homer's Iliad. The goal? To dominate the area around the city of Troy, known to the ancients as Ilios. Each turn, you'll place warrior tiles, each with its attack direction indicated by white rays. When an opponent raids your tile, they occupy it with a disk of their color. The magic happens when a tile is completely surrounded by disks from one or more players. At that point, it's removed from the board and added to the plunder of the player who surrounded it. And the coolest part: your opponents can plunder your tiles even on your turn! ILIOS blends the luck of the tile draw with the cunning of your strategic decisions, requiring a balance between offense and defense. The base game comes with cardboard tiles, but a deluxe version with wooden pieces and a larger board is available as part of a larger collection about the ancient world. It's a quick game, easy to learn, but with enough depth to keep you engaged.
