About the game

What you do in a play session

In the Free City of Cadwallon, a silent power struggle unfolds behind the scenes. Mighty guilds vie for influence over districts, and you're in the thick of it! Guilds of Cadwallon is a fast tactical game where 2-4 players (up to 8 with expansion) use agents to control city areas and accumulate points. The board consists of cards arranged in grids that vary by player count (3x3, 4x4 or 5x5), creating a different setup every game. With area majority, set collection, and tile placement mechanics, each round is a strategic ballet: you must decide where to position agents, when to strike rivals, and how to combo guild special abilities. Despite the dark fantasy theme from the Confrontation universe, the game is surprisingly accessible and quick - matches average 30 minutes. Low text makes it great for multilingual groups, and board randomness ensures high replayability. Just don't expect deep narrative: here the focus is pure territorial strategy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
Best player count?
3-4 is the sweet spot. With 2 it becomes a brainy duel; above 5 can get chaotic (but some love the mayhem!).
Need to know Confrontation lore?
Not at all! The theme is just flavor - the game works 100% as a standalone experience.
Hard to learn?
Nope - rules take 10 minutes. Depth comes from mastering how mechanics interact.
Good for eurogamers?
If you like tactical decisions in short games, yes. But don't expect heavy euro-style optimization.
Cards in English?
International version has almost no text - just icons and numbers, so it's inherently multilingual.
Luck or pure strategy?
70% strategy (positioning, timing), 30% luck (district card distribution).
