About the game

What you do in a play session

Forget about the peace of the jungle! In Jungle Speed: Safari, mealtime turns the environment into pure competitive chaos. If you are already familiar with the classic Jungle Speed, you will feel right at home, but get ready for a twist: instead of a single totem, there are five wooden totems scattered on the table, each with a specific function during the frenzy.

The dynamic is fast-paced and straightforward: each player has a personal stack of face-down cards and reveals them one by one. From that moment on, the game becomes a test of pure reflexes. Depending on which animal appears or the combination of cards on the table, you need to react at lightning speed. If a hungry animal shows up, everyone races to grab the correct totem to feed it. If the hunter appears, it is total panic as every creature tries to protect itself. Whoever is fastest and manages to grab the correct totem adds the card to their score pile. The goal is to finish the game with the most cards collected.

What makes Safari special is that it is not just about matching symbols. You need to visually process which totem corresponds to which action and, of course, have quick hands to ensure the totem doesn't slip away to your neighbor. It is a loud, funny game that creates hilarious situations, especially when someone grabs the wrong totem or tries to snatch one that has nothing to do with the current trigger. It is the perfect choice for the end of a party or to liven up a gathering with friends who don't have the patience to read 50-page rulebooks. The learning curve is almost non-existent: you explain it in a minute, and everyone is already shouting and laughing. If you enjoy dexterity games and don't mind a bit of a mess on the table, this one is a must-have on your shelf. The tension of having five different totems creates an extra layer of challenge that keeps everyone on their toes. Get your reflexes ready, move fragile items away from the table, and good luck on the hunt!
