About the game
Imagine the scene: the kelp forests of South Africa, where sunlight barely reaches the bottom and suspense reigns supreme. In Kelp: Shark vs Octopus, you dive into this world in a completely asymmetrical duel. On one side, we have the Octopus, the master of disguise. To win, it must be cunning: using cards to sneak around, managing hidden blocks to deceive the opponent, and attempting to survive or consume four types of seafood. It's a game of cat and mouse (or rather, shark and octopus), where bluffing and camouflage are your best weapons.

On the other side, we have the Pyjama Shark, the relentless predator. Its goal is simple but challenging: hunt down the octopus. While the octopus plays with cards, the shark uses luck and bag-building strategy. It patrols the territory, rolls dice, and uses special abilities to mitigate luck and close in on its prey. The tension is constant, as every move by the shark could be the final blow, while every dodge by the octopus brings it closer to victory through the predator's exhaustion.

The game blends deck-building and bag-building mechanics organically, mirroring the nature of the animals. While one builds a deck of tricks, the other enhances a bag of dice to become more lethal. It's the kind of game where psychology matters as much as the rules: are you really where you say you are? Is the shark just bluffing or about to strike? With three distinct victory conditions and completely different paths for each player, every match becomes a tactical battle of survival and predation in the deep sea.
