About the game

What you do in a play session

In Khronos each player assumes the role of a powerful lord accompanied by two adventurers who travel across three simultaneous timelines: the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Modern Era. You start on the medieval board (commanderies) and, each turn, draw four action cards that let you erect military, religious, or civil buildings. The size of a building dictates whether it "advances" in time, moving to the same spot on later boards and becoming ruins when it’s a castle or abbey. With enough money you can operate the time machine to shift your adventurers between eras, opening fresh chances for expansion or demolition. On the 4th and 7th rounds, controlled domains generate profit: on the medieval board the player with the largest military building receives the value of the civil buildings; on the Renaissance board religious dominance pays off; on the modern board the player who best populates civil structures and restores ruins wins. The ability to move and destroy constructions creates constant interaction, as a castle built later can erase an abbey from an earlier period, reshaping the power balance. The game blends hand management, tile placement and area influence across multiple maps, delivering a deep strategic experience without being overly heavy. Perfect for fans of medieval‑fantasy themes who love tinkering with time to surprise opponents.
