About the game

What you do in a play session

Koopia is a super fun dexterity game for 2 to 4 players, played on a wooden board featuring six recessed scoring pits on each side. The core idea is simple yet addictive: each player (or team) has eight circular discs, and on your turn, you'll flick or push one across the board, aiming for your opponent's scoring pits. But there's more to it than just that! You can also use your shots to strike your own discs to position them better, or even mess with your opponents' plans by knocking their discs off the board or into their own scoring pits. Each disc that lands perfectly inside an opponent's scoring pit scores 1 point. Be careful not to land your own discs in your own pits or knock an opponent's disc into their own pit, as this results in a -1 point penalty. Discs that leave the board are removed from play for the round. Players alternate shots until all discs have been played, then the round is scored. The player or team with the lower score starts the next round, unless there's a tie, and the game continues until someone reaches 15 points at the end of a round. But there's an instant-win condition, the famous KOOPIA: if you or your team manages to place at least one disc in EACH of your opponent's six scoring pits in a single round, victory is yours immediately! If both players or teams reach 15 points in the same round, or both achieve a KOOPIA, the game goes to overtime, where the winner is the player or team with the most discs in their opponent's scoring pits.
