In Kosmonauts, you and your friends step into the boots of space cadets on their final trial before becoming officers. The challenge? A thrilling race through the solar system where you'll prove your spaceship-handling and problem-solving skills! The goal is to be the first to return to Earth after visiting all other planets and a comet. The twist? The visitation order isn't linear; you can visit checkpoints in any sequence, adding a strategic layer. Each game turn unfolds in phases: first, a random event might shake things up for everyone, its effect depending on each ship's location. Then, all players simultaneously plot their movement orders using a compass rose to allocate fuel units in up to six directions. Here's the clever part: fuel doesn't disappear after each turn! You can add more fuel to accelerate or use fuel in the opposite direction to brake. Your ship moves one hex for each fuel unit spent in a specific direction. If you fueled multiple directions, the ship moves in all of them! After movement, the active player shifts the planets and comet, then passes the turn. Players earn victory points from planet/comet tokens (the earlier you land, the more points!) and completed missions. Whoever racks up the most VPs wins! It's a space race with a unique movement management and action planning system that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
