About the game
What you do in a play session
Last Blitzkrieg is the first entry in the Battalion Combat Series, plunging you into World War II battles at the battalion scale. The game recreates the Ardennes Offensive (Battle of the Bulge) with four detailed maps (1km per hex) and 1,680 counters, offering an impressive level of historical detail. Each turn represents a day, starting on December 16, 1944, and going until the 31st, covering even the initial phase of the Allied counterattack. Victory is determined by comparing the German advance in victory point hexes with the situation at the end of the game. Beyond the full campaign, there are nine smaller scenarios, ranging from 4 to 10 turns, for quicker games. The game features mechanics like dice rolling, hex grid movement, and combat simulation, with unique concepts like shock attacks, artillery barrages, and logistical challenges like Tiger tank maintenance woes. The components are generous: four large maps, six counter sheets, rulebooks, and charts, all designed for an immersive and historically accurate experience.
