About the game
In Le Havre, you step into the shoes of an ambitious merchant in the bustling port of Le Havre, France. The goal is to amass the largest fortune in cash and assets by the end of the game. Each round is divided into seven turns, and on each turn, players have two crucial options: either take all goods of a specific type from one of the offer spaces, which are automatically replenished, or use one of the available buildings. These buildings are the backbone of your strategy, allowing you to upgrade raw materials, sell them for profit, or use them to construct your own buildings and ships. Building structures is a smart investment, as they not only offer powerful actions but also generate income when other players use them, for a fee. Ships, in turn, are essential for ensuring the food supply for your workers, a challenge that intensifies with each round. Food payment is one of the most critical aspects of the game, and a lack thereof can lead to interest-bearing bank loans, which must be managed wisely. After every seven turns, a harvest phase occurs, where cattle and grain can multiply, and then your workers need to be fed. With each passing round, the cost of food increases, forcing players to carefully plan their actions and resources from the outset. The game ends after a fixed number of rounds, with one final action for each player. The final fortune is calculated by adding the value of buildings and ships to the cash reserves. The player with the largest fortune wins the game.
