Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the latest addition to the Legendary series, bringing the iconic TV show into a semi‑cooperative deck‑building board game. With 1 to 5 players, you take on the roles of Buffy, Angel, Willow, Giles and other fan‑favourite heroes, racing to stop the Big Bad and their sinister schemes before they take over the city. The goal is simple: critically defeat the villain four times before he completes his plot. If the Big Bad wins, the game ends in a collective defeat. The game relies on hero, villain, henchmen, scheme cards, and also incorporates Open Drafting, where players choose cards from a common pool, creating unique strategies each playthrough. The Movies/TV/Radio theme and science‑fiction elements blend with a TV detective vibe, reinforced by a light/dark track that alters character strength, adding a thematic feel. The core set contains 500 cards: 15 heroes, 5 Big Bads, 7 villain groups, 5 henchmen groups, 8 schemes, 40 Watchers, 20 initiative soldiers, 15 potential Slayers, 30 bystanders, 30 wounds, 11 scheme twists, 5 master strikes, and 60 dividers. Pure deck‑building is the backbone, but the inclusion of bags and pools of cards makes the game more dynamic and unpredictable. For fans of series‑themed, cooperative, and deck‑building games, Legendary: Buffy is a solid pick, though be aware that the learning curve can be steeper if you’re not familiar with the Legendary system.
