Imagine a world devastated by colossal creatures that, in a fit of madness, tore everything apart. Now, humanity's only hope is to send brave climbers to scale these monsters and heal them. In Leviathan Wilds, you and your friends (or solo) take on this role in a cooperative experience where the board is literally a storybook. Each page presents a new Leviathan, turning the reading experience into a vertical battlefield.
The dynamics are tense: you use a multi-use card deck to move, jump, and glide across the creature's body. But be careful! The number of cards remaining in your deck represents your 'grip'. If you run out of cards, you lose your hold and start falling, needing a rest space to recover your breath and reset your deck. Meanwhile, the Leviathan isn't just sitting there. It has its own event deck that triggers attacks, pushes players, and increases its 'rage', making the effects more brutal as the game progresses.
The goal is strategic and coordinated: spend your action points to reach and destroy binding crystals scattered across the monster's body. Each crystal has a different strength, requiring the group to manage their unique abilities efficiently to reduce all of them to zero before things spiral out of control. With 20 interconnected scenarios, the game offers an engaging narrative campaign, with adjustable difficulty levels for those who want to feel the true pressure of climbing an enraged titan. It's the kind of game that blends the tension of a videogame 'boss fight' with the depth of a strategic card game.

Is the game too complex?
It has a medium weight (2.47 on BGG), so it's not an entry-level game, but nothing impossible. Hand management and grid movement become intuitive after a few games.
Can I play it solo?
Yes! The game fully supports a solo mode, allowing you to face the Leviathans on your own.
How long does each game take?
Each scenario takes about 45 minutes on average, but with a campaign of 20 missions, you'll have many hours of gameplay.
Is the book-board durable?
Yes, it's spiral-bound, making it easy to open and move pieces across the pages.
Do I need a lot of memory for the rules?
Not really. There is very little text, and most information is on the cards, making it easy to manage.
Who would you recommend this game to?
Anyone who enjoys cooperative games, fantasy themes, and that 'we're almost beating the boss' feeling typical of RPGs and videogames.
