In LULO Coast, get ready for a race against the clock as you and your friends dive into building your own archipelagos! The concept is simple, but the execution is frantic: everyone plays simultaneously, grabbing and placing land and water tiles as quickly as possible. The trick is to ensure adjacent terrains always connect, forming islands, coastlines, lakes, and harbor landings. It's like assembling a puzzle at high speed, where every tile counts for the beauty and functionality of your map.
Once a tile is placed, it usually stays there, firm and strong. But, as in any good adventure, there's a trick up your sleeve: special orca tiles. They allow you to swap previously placed tiles, giving you that golden opportunity to reshape your map and correct a mistake or optimize a connection. And the best part? There's no downtime! With each tile placed, you're already grabbing the next, keeping the pace high and the adrenaline pumping.
But don't think it's just about building your private paradise. Some tiles, the ones with green trees, are a gift (or a trap!) for your opponents. You must place them on another player's map, which adds a touch of interaction and even a bit of friendly sabotage, all while you continue improving your own island network. When all tiles are in place, it's time to tally the points. Complete islands with at least one stone landing and certain island and lake formations are worth points. Oh, and beware: incorrectly placed tiles are removed before final scoring. The player with the most points wins and is crowned the supreme coastal architect!
