Merlin the Magnificent has finally passed away, but he didn't take all his treasures with him! He left behind an incredible collection of magical creatures waiting for new owners, and now it's your turn to join the fray. In Magic Money, you take on the role of an ambitious wizard looking to expand your private menagerie of monsters. The catch here is that, for a wizard, money is hardly an issue—you can conjure up as much cash as you need to win those auctions. But watch out: this abundance comes with a dangerous twist! If you end up being the most greedy wizard at the table and spend more than everyone else, you're out of the game! The gameplay revolves around rounds of secret bidding. Each turn, a new creature is presented, and you must secretly write down how much you are willing to conjure from thin air to claim it. The winner of the previous round acts as the auctioneer and collects all the bids. Only the opening bid and the winning bid are revealed, creating a wonderful atmosphere of tension and bluffing. Once all the creature cards have been claimed, the scoring begins. You'll sum up the attributes of each creature you've acquired—such as horns, wings, and hearts—while also considering any special abilities the cards might possess. These abilities can drastically change a bid's value or provide unexpected bonuses. Ultimately, it's a game of balance: you need to be strategic enough to snag the best creatures, but not so greedy that you become the biggest spender of the night. It's a fast-paced race of resource management and bluffing, perfect for those who enjoy quick sessions and high player interaction!
